3 weeks to race day: the sharpening window

A full build no longer fits, but a sharp one does. This close in, the job is specificity and freshness: race-pace touches, open-water or brick rehearsal, and a taper your nervous system actually absorbs. No heroics; arrive fresh.

R
Recover
Consider recovery context, sleep and readiness before adding training load.
A
Align
Fit the plan to your actual life, not the one you wish you had.
C
Condition
Minimum effective dose. The right sessions, done fresh.
E
Execute
Race-week protocol, pacing, contingency. Nothing new on race day.

Building for this one? Training plans cover the sessions, the weekly shape and how the block is paced. The R.A.C.E. Framework explains why it is built that way.

Road to Race

Build my pacing and preparation plan.

Commit to the date and we will walk you to it: a countdown, honest guidance by email, and the debrief afterwards. Full adaptive training for running races is coming; nothing here pretends otherwise.

One confirmation email, then the road begins. Registering for the race itself stays with the organiser.

Already have the app, or want it? The app takes this race and builds the block around it.

“The most East London race there is: fast course, good coffee, half the field in run clubs. Bring your crew.”

The race

Run Shoreditch is what the new wave of road racing looks like: a flat, fast closed-road 10K through East London with DJs on corners and half the run clubs in the city on the start line. It starts and finishes in Shoreditch Park and 2026 is its first edition. As a 10K it slots in as a sharpener rather than a target race, three or four weeks out from an autumn half or marathon.

The course

No course maps for this race. The organiser publishes no downloadable route for any leg of this race, so there is nothing to draw a course map from. Everything below comes from the official course page, checked on the date at the foot of this section.

Lap count not published

Start and finish in Shoreditch Park, N1 6TA, on a fully closed-to-traffic loop through East London. This is the first edition, so there is no previous year's field or finish times to judge it against.

Not yet confirmed for this edition: lap count, detailed route, elevation gain, cut-off times, start time. We publish these only once they are on the official course page, so check there before you pace off anything here.

Course details verified against the official Saucony Run Shoreditch course page on 14 August 2026. Courses change; the official page is always the last word.

Questions, answered

When is Saucony Run Shoreditch 2026?

Saucony Run Shoreditch takes place on 20 September 2026.

What distances can I race at Saucony Run Shoreditch?

10km. Whichever you choose, anchor a structured block to the date and let your readiness shape each week.

How hard is the course?

Road terrain, flat profile with around 70m of climbing. Closed East London streets

How long do I need to train for it?

Race day is 20 September 2026. For the 10k, a proper recovery-led build wants about 10 weeks, which means starting around 12 July 2026. Later starts still work: the block compresses honestly rather than pretending, and it always anchors to the exact race date.

How do I enter?
