TCS London Marathon 2027
The world's greatest marathon. A flat, roaring city course from Greenwich to The Mall, and from 2027 raced over two days for the first time.
34 weeks to race day: base season
Plenty of runway. This far out, the win is a boring, consistent base rhythm: aerobic volume, strength, technique. The structured block starts closer in; what you do now decides how high it can climb.
Building for this one? Training plans cover the sessions, the weekly shape and how the block is paced. The R.A.C.E. Framework explains why it is built that way.
Build my complete road.
Commit to the date and we will walk you to it: a countdown, honest guidance by email, and the debrief afterwards. Full adaptive training for running races is coming; nothing here pretends otherwise.
One confirmation email, then the road begins. Registering for the race itself stays with the organiser.
“Enter the ballot every single year, no exceptions. The day your magazine arrives, your training questions become mine.”
The race
The course
No course maps for this race. The organiser publishes no downloadable route for any leg of this race, so there is nothing to draw a course map from. Everything below comes from the official course page, checked on the date at the foot of this section.
Greenwich to The Mall. Three separate start lines that merge just before Mile 3 at Woolwich, then west through Charlton, Greenwich and Deptford, looping Cutty Sark between Miles 6 and 7. Rotherhithe and Jamaica Road bring you to Tower Bridge and halfway. North of the river you head east along The Highway to Westferry, then Mudchute, Docklands and Canary Wharf, where tall buildings and the Westferry Underpass break GPS signal, so run to the mile markers rather than your watch. Rainbow Row in Limehouse sits just past Mile 21. The last five miles run The Highway, Tower Hill and Victoria Embankment to Parliament Square, Birdcage Walk and the final turn at Buckingham Palace.
Not yet confirmed for this edition: confirmed start times, which the organiser lists as likely rather than final, elevation gain. We publish these only once they are on the official course page, so check there before you pace off anything here.
Course details verified against the official TCS London Marathon course page on 14 August 2026. Courses change; the official page is always the last word.
